Alright so I somehow ended up watching this, ack! Back to the school themes again! Haha..
So this anime is called: H2O ~ Footprints in the Sand, like the other school-theme animes, this was based off an adult visual novel too (wow, there must be some trend going on with this theme of anime..)
I won't talk too much about it, but I'll throw some thoughts down on it and maybe a recommendation or two.
-=ABOUT=- So just very quickly - this anime revolves around a student, Takuma Hirose who is blind for no apparent physical reason. He is moved to a village where he meets a few girls, but one in particular - the quiet and always picked on Kohinata Hayami, who seems to have a certain mystery about her from her past which affects the whole village. As Takuma gets close to these girls, his blindness starts to get better.
-=THOUGHTS=- Well, just in general I guess, the plot at first seems a bit simple. But I found myself continuing the anime as fast as I could; I wanted to finish it in one night, but I got up to about 4am and I couldn't keep going, so I had to finish the last two episodes this morning haha.
There's something catchy about the plot. Despite being kind of predictable and despite the ending being a BIT weird and maybe unexpected..
In general though, this anime seemed to be more of a happy-gogo anime.
Art was very similar to Myself; Yourself as someone pointed out from some forum! I started to realise that too, especially the main girl, haha.
But the art was good, not as creative or great as the Ef series, but not off-putting either :).
What I would've liked to see though was perhaps some techniques to emphasize Takuma's blindness better; I read up that the game seemed to be able to convey this pretty well - using a "blindness mode".
Would've been interesting anyway.. because if you didn't have the main character blind, then it would've just been any normal main character haha.
Music didn't really appeal to me much - but it wasn't bad either, I mean it didn't make me pay attention to it, but I could tell it was there, just not very memorable unlike Ef =P.
Loved the small easter egg thrown in episode 8 I think, haha..
All and all it's a much lighter anime compared the ones I've been watching. A quick, warm anime which wasn't too deep and felt somewhat satisfying.
So if you're looking for a simple story with some interesting turn of events but not too deep, then this would be something to watch. :)
